IP Address

An IP address is a numeric code that uniquely identifies a particular computer on the Internet, similar in the way that a house number and street name will enable someone to find you on a map.

Their main use is to allow computers to find one another in order to communicate but they can be used in advertising to determine the geographical location of a user’s PC which, in turn, allows them to be segmented for Geo Targeting.
